BCB,do you folks think you will ever switch over to an acrylic grab rail on the PIV ? It looks sharp on the other models.Last edited by jiggerjake1 on April 1st, 2010, 11:31 am, edited 1 time in total.
The lighted handrails look sharp, but the SS handrails are very functional and also look good. I have the SS rail on my original Jag and love it. I dont recall ever reading a post about the need to replace the SS rail due to failure. If given the option, Id go for the maintenance free dependable SS rail every time, especially if less expensive.
Not to hijack this post, but what can be done to make the clear rails look better, mine look like they have 1000 cracks in them? 2008 Cougar FTDThanks,JR
JRoberts, Take photos of the rails that are cracked and send them to service at BCB or go to your local BCB dealer and have them take care of the situation. The cracking is NOT normal for the hand rails. If you use cleaning chemicals to clean them off, they can turn white or be permanately damaged.

My Puma did the same thing. Some of them were evidently a bad batch and cracked like a plastic acrylic glass that has been in the dishwasher.
This image was posted before from the factory. It was on top of the building for five (5) years and had nothing done to it other than cleaned. Our conclusion on this is that the majority of damage to acrylic rails is done by cleaning agents. No silicone or other cleaners can be used on the acrylic rails.
