Adding 3.5 stereo wired remote gauge to my PIV need suggestions

Need some input from the PIV, Puma and Cougar FTD boaters. I am adding Sony RM-X55M wired remote to my dash on my PIV to save space. The gauge is 3.5″. I need suggestions where to put this on my console. Ill have two 3.5″ Yamaha Command Link Gauges with no smaller gauges below. Should I put the 3.5″ remote gauge as far out as possible. Flyswatter, The front end is where to put it. Right up on the bow in front of the LCR opening. There is an area there for an indash or other component. Then you can use your remote from the dash, and hard wired “55” remote from the bow fishing. BCB

My intention was to mount the main head unit in the starboard rod locker to keep console clutter to a minimum and run everything from the console with the smaller foot print, 3.5″ RM-X55M gauge. I need to rethink how I want to use this per your suggestion. Your suggestion is a good one. Thanks! Flyswatter

Flyswatter, Those Sony head units would mount in the dash of a Premium and Advantage console. BCB

I had Sherm install it next to the graph and troll motor on the bow since I spend more time there than in the drivers seat.

I am curious. Do you play music and fish at the same? I have never done that. So I am putting this out there. Does playing music have an impact on bass fishing? Maybe I am too old school. My original thought was to put the wired remote in the dash to conserve on dash space but now I am reconsidering all this per BassCats response and Steves response. Good stuff. I am sure music effects fishing but as most lakes have boat travel with kids and loud music etc. I think the fish become accustomed to it. I only listen to music when fun fishing. Just mount the head unit below your dash in a box and mount the sat remote on the bow. It has a wireless remote as well right? You can use that while in the hot seat behind the console. I would not mount the radio head unit in the dash.
