Adding a reverse light

Well after seeing other BassCat boat trailers with a reverse light, I want one now. I see that it is only $30 online, but does that include the wiring and mounting bracket as well? Thanks, Okie

Okieman, I am wondering how much light one of these lights puts out? I too am interested and would like to know if installation instructions comes with them.

They are a medium range tractor flood light. They are not like your head lights, and mostly because the location is further back on the trailer. It is like standing 30 behind a head light. The light can be added on to the top of some C Channel frames. The light is all that comes, and the wiring is just 16 gauge wires added to the wire coming off the solenoid. BCB

I have seen them in action at night on the ramp and it is a huge bonus having one. Plus backing into my driveway and my boat garage would be easier if I had this light. I am ordering it now!! Also, for anyone interested in adding a small glove-style box to your boat, I found that taking a plastic radio mount box ($5), putting a small piece of boat carpet inside, then mounting it under the console on the left side it is AWESOME. It isnt in the way of your knees and it is perfect for holding keys, cell phone, small flashlight, etc… What style bracket do you recommend for mounting it to the trailer? We would try to direct bolt it to the trailer and over the cross member if the clearance is there, or hung under if it is not. BCB

Okieman, how did you attach the glove box thing. Im interested in something like that to hold sunglasses and such, but wondering what you used to attach. Great idea by the way – seems very simple and functional. I saw the post a while ago about some of the older boats having a shelf under the console, and that got me to wondering. Thanks again. I had two reverse light factory installed on my trailer, and they are a life saver. Backing anywhere after dark they are wonferful. If you are going to the trouble, I would add two.

Here is a picture of what I bought. This one is from a different company (I found mine at BassPro and it wasnt marked so they sold it to me for $5). http://www.autotoys.com/x/product.php?productid=7788 I would cut out the two side pieces to give you more room to put things in it. But it is the same design as the one I bought. I put carpet in it and then used small bolts with lock nuts to mount to the bottom of the console. I drilled through the fiberglass under the console and bolted it on. I was only able to use three bolts (two on the left and one on the back because of the location of the fiberglass. But it holds what I need with no problem. I would love for BCB to look into doing this on their next modifications. Okieman
