The basscat that I currently own, 2017 Cougar AE SP did not come with the pop up middle cleats on the boat. The two previous cats, Cougar FTD and P2 had the cleats on them when I bought those boats. So I am adding at least one, if not two of them, one on each side to this boat. However I do have some questions. I purchased one cleat, it does not have any type of gasket, or seal that would go between the fiberglass and the cleat when I mount it to the boat. Is this right, or is there a seal that I need to buy? Also do I mount it so when I trip the cleat it swings up, or down to be used? One side of the cleat has a small cut in it I would assume it is to allow water to drain out, so this goes to the bottom? This cleat also came with 2 screws, so I mount it with them, or nut and bolt it with washers? Any assistance is appreciated.
