Additional Trailer Roller

captjerry,What size/brand roller is that, and where did you purchase it? Looks like a 6 or 8″. Nice install.I cured the problem with bumping the spare when loading unloading by wedging under the front of the tire with a plastic window wedge tool I had laying around. Drilled one hole in the spare crossmember and mounted it. Changed the angle just enough to eliminate the problem.

I believe it was a 6 inch roller. It is just standard stuff you get at West Marine. The bracket was galvanized, so I hit it with a little black paint prior to installation. I had to put it at the lowest setting on the bracket to get about a half inch of clearance when the boat is on the trailer. This definitely helps with unloading, especially on steeper ramps. It keeps the boat off the spare and helps prevent the trolling motor bracket from impacting the bow roller. I recommend that you install it while the boat is on the trailer so that you get the right clearance. Good luck!
