Love the Pics Kelly
Kelly, we caught our fish on jigs, all mid river and had all of them in the boat by 7:30. We culled a 2 pounder with a 3 pounder at 9:00 and never culled again. We only caught 4 fish after 9:00. Had a great time. I appreciate all your hard work. I will attend all that I can and help in any way. BTW I enjoyed meeting the guys. We talked to Shawn and Russ the most, nice guys! We were so close that if we had swapped big fish we probably would have swapped places also. We had almost identical bags. Great job Shawn/Russ. Also, congrtas to Tammy Watson, most ladies wont brave that kind of weather to fish with a scruffy bunch like us. Nice to see her there! If you look at the weights there was some pretty good sacks weighed in BCB has some strong anglers. Shawn, what is your posting name on the BCB board? Keep in touch!
Great looking group of boats. Even the older ones still look great. Great design never goes out of style.
Kelly Looks like a great tournement. I will be fishing the next one. Great Pics
They were pulling water from 7am till 11am. We had a limit by 7:40. We culled about three limits of fish until 11:30, then nothing. Caught one around 1 pm but it was of no help. Then decided to go back to the ramp. Most of our fish were on shaky head, a couple on a jig. We were fishing mid river as well about 20 foot of water. When we went up to the scales we were behind Terry and Jeremy, I knew we were in trouble. But that was the most fun I have had on that lake. (Second time fishing it) I had a great time meeting all the guys and lady, and the competition was fierce!! Cant wait to meet up somewhere again. Shawn Mertens
First of all Kelly did a heck of a job putting it together. Thanks to Bill for helping with the weigh in. Thanks to Airport Marine for the goodys to give away. My son and I caught all our fish shakey head, had a limit by 7:40. Culled up to about 12-13 lbs. Then at 1:30 we stopped on a point and caught 2 that culled out 2 more. Like Ike says, “never give up” We were sort of panicking trying to use the balance beam cause some of our fish were close plus we were running out of time. I have never been part of a 16 Lb. plus bag so I was pretty happy. Best part is doing it with my son. We caught about 20 that day. Looking forward to the next one. Aint nothing like our Coosa River Spots. Congratulations to Russ Lane who finish 6th in the FLW open yesterday on the the Big O.
Stan and Shawn, we were pretty worried looking at yalls bags as well…..we thought we had about 16lbs. Shawn, for a 2nd time on the lake you did very well….everyone seems to have had their limit early….maybe we should have started fishing at 5 am…..Enjoyed it guys!
Thanks to Shawn and his sponsor Vicious Fishing for donating the spools of line that were given away.
Kelly, Sorry I missed out on the fun and fellowship. Sounds like you and Bill did a great job with the tournament and all had a fun time. I beat myself up all day Saturday, but I was just real concerned about the roads when I last checked at 2:AM and made the decision not to chance traveling with so much sleet falling with a rain mixture. I guess Bill left his Strawberry jelly worms in L.A. Look forward to the next one, sure hope I can make it. Mackey
