Alarm Question

After finishing up at a tournament Sunday, before hitting the road for home, I locked all of the storage boxes and set the alarm so there would be some theft protection for those times I had to stop on the way. When I got home, the alarm light was blinking. Anyone know what a blinking alarm light means? I opened one of the boxes and it sounded off as usual, so evidently still working. When I reset it, it was no longer blinking. C.

Im not sure about the blinking, but Ive had mine go off a couple of times when it was set while I was trailering. You certainly get some attention when you pull into a service station with the alarm going off.

From what I can tell as this has happened to me before, the alarm was going off as you were going down the road, guess its a pretty good security feature as I am sure if cop heard it he would probably pull you over. I did not intend to trailer it that way I just forgot to disarm it prior to heading out and luckily my windows were down and I heard it about a mile down the road. The alarm light blinking indicates that the alarm was tripped, I imagine it has some sort of limit feature as to how long it would go off for before turning back off.

I suspected that the blinking light meant that the alarm had been triggered. Question is, why would trailering with the alarm on cause it to trigger? All of the lids were still locked. C.

They are Mercury switches and the trailer bouncing and jumping around behind the truch on a rough road can and will trigger them to sound the alarm. Never trailer with the alarm on. The 09s dont have mercury switches and you might be able to trailer with those activated but it isnt worth it to do…just set it when you stop and undo it when you come back out. You can be inconspicious enough no one will even see what you are doing. Good luck. Judd Lasiter

They have a manual switch due to regulations upcoming in some areas which prohibit importing the mercury metal in the switches, under any form.
