2008 Puma (love it!!!) My alarm system is not working. When it was, it would go off frequently when the battery charger was plugged in (perhaps coincidence). Where do I start?
The alarm system is the small round touch pad and security system you are speaking of. If so then it could be the switches in the boxes not functioning. Do you have interior lights on all the compartments? If so then is is likely the touch pad assembly processor. If these two are functioning then you are setting it we assume. BCB
In a similar light to what BCB is telling you-Had a similar issue in my 09 last year. As it turned out one of the compartment compression switches to turn off the lights in that compartment compressed just enough of the foam on the inside of one of the lids that it was no longer switching the lights off and therefore you couldnt arm the alarm. Lost enough force to compress the switch down to the off position.To me the first question is- are you still getting a horn beep when you try to arm the alarm? Mine wouldnt because the circuit was not complete. So if the horn doesnt beep i would then-shut all of the compartments slowly in a DARK room and see if the light is on in any of the compartments as they all are shut. If there is still some light you have your problem IDd. I took a screw cap cover and siliconed it onto the lid opposite the offending switch and have had a good alarm for a year now.If all the lights will turn off you need to call your dealer or parts at BCBC.O.D. I will check on both of these replies in the next day or so when Im able. The lights are working in the lockers, not sure if they shut off when closed or not. Will be checking on that. Thank for the ideas
