All right guys, I have nothing to do. Im limited on my activity for a while longer. Any gossip to what BassCat is developing? Ive lost track of time. How long has Caracal been out? This to me, right now, is the most awesome boat made today. Combination, 70 plus mph boat, super wide deck, storage like no other and just flat out gorgeous in design. What say you? If nothing is in development thats okay too. How is the bass boat industry doing in general? What trends are you seeing? Not to much bass fishing in Ukraine. Its funny when I tell my colleagues over there about bass fishing. Now that is a culture shock. LOL
Caracal was introduced for the 2015 model year. There is to be another new model introduced at this years dealer meeting, or at least it will be there for test drives. I believe its another 19 footer. I cant speak to how the boating industry is doing. Some others will have more knowledge of that Im certain. I do know Sherm is still selling a lot of boats. The Caracal has definitely caught my attention. Glad you are recovering nicely Tom!
There was discussion awhile back about a re-design of the Classic. Not sure if that is for this year or next or even further down the road. Agree with you on the Caracal. Its pretty sweet.
Yeah BCB mentioned a 19 base model boat directed at college anglers or others looking to get into a nice boat who dont have a $50k budget. Posted via TapaTalk for iPhone613 PIV w/ 200 MercIG: WarriorRiverCustomRods
Caracal looks like an awesome rig – pointed to the Ranger type crowd – great fishing platform. Talk of 78mph for a couple of rigs- Im afraid those boats are Ivan light with 1 rod, 1 jig, and barely enough gas to make it back. I think in reality – loaded to fish w/ partner/gas/wells – its a 70-72mph rig – maybe. Big boats can carry lots of stuff and weight costs speed. Dont know that “fast” is the quality folks buy the hull for. Its big, wide, and comfortable.Bass Boat industry is quiet with many wondering the impact that Johnny Morris acquiring Ranger / Stratos / Triton will have on those brands. Now that Hoppers resigned the company and Ranger has lost its “family” advocate – what will happen to the line? There are quietly many questions – although it seems to be strangely silent as we wait and anticipate.Biggest issues seem to be advances in electronics and complete system integration. Garmins making major inroads with Panoptics. Chirp technologies are making 2D imagery amazing.
I have a 2016 Caracal (from Sherm). The boat is nothing short of freaking awesome. What a rig, man. I absolutely love it.I havent seen 78 yet, but Ive been one mph off….and it wasnt lightly loaded…at all.
Tom, once my Caracal arrives Ill come down and we can fish. Im just 3 hours to Smith. Would love some top water action on those big Spotted Bass.
I hope we get to hear something from BCB before too much longer on the re-designed classic. I read somewhere that there have already been a couple hulls laid in the new mold. I own an Eyra now, but a new Classic would be high on my list when I swap boats in a couple years. While the Sabre is an awesome 18 boat, I think that some people in the market may overlook it, just because its an 181″ hull whereas some of the other brand 18 rigs are 186″ and up now. The classic could fill that gap while competing with the “N” brand boats, in terms of price point.
