I saw a video of a couple that were trying to fill their house with American made products only. I googled this and found this website for American made products but was sadly disappointed to see under American made boats was no listing for BassCat. Such a travesty. Would BassCat be interested in being listed on this site? http://www.americansworking.com/http://www.americansworking.com/boats.htmlhttp://www.americansworking.com/productsubmit.html”Political Correctness is a doctrine fostered by a delusional illogical minority, and rapidly promoted by an unscrupulous main- stream media which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end.”
i have a electrical contracting business we was wiring a new factory for a guy that had moved his business from michigan to Texarkana he had some kind of patten on a car release for the railroad company he had all the parts made in china shipped to his factory here in texarkana and all they did was weld two pieces together and paint it yellow and it was considered Made in The USA i asked him how they considered that made in the USA and he told me that as long as 15% or more of the final product in assembled in the USA it is Considered Made in the USA that why most everything you buy is put together in some other country by some cheap labor and nothing you get anymore is worth a crap and also it is what is wrong with this country it is all about cheaper and faster not quality
My favorite is down here in Texas lots of things are American made……by Mexicans. This is by no means a racial slight, these guys do great work but the irony kills me!
Unions. To answer blackpuma.- Chaz
BCB is the only company to run a Made in the USA advertisement, also in the front two pages of Bassmaster magazine some seven (7) years ago appx. There they listed the trailer steel (each location), wheels, tires, pumps, fiberglass, resin, gels, carpeting and more. Though today the glass is imported because they no longer build it in the USA or Canada as they did. The wheels are Chinese and many other parts are imported that were touted. Times are changing and they need to return to at least a shadow of shat once was.Last edited by Bass Cat Boats on March 2nd, 2011, 5:18 am, edited 2 times in total.
Unions and the fact that the USA has the highest corporate tax rate in the world. We drive them out. They have no moral obligation to stay here.I compete with China all the time. We are a high tech manufacturer. The government hurts our business, not cheap China labor. The new battle space is the economy. Other countries get it.We spend hundreds of billions of dollars on weapon systems each year, but little to retain our business or shore up our financial markets.TimThat is a good lookin boat and as BCB knows, you cant do it alone. It is all about building a strong comitted supply team. The stronger the team, the better you can compete, and win.
You are correct tswanson, the largest complicating factor is our government and bureaucratic intervention. The EPA making regulations (not law) we have no basis for and are poorly conceived, regulating the manufacturing user while often leaving out the political hot shoe of the general public. We have seen acetone regulated now three times in our history. Lets see, first it was as a suspected carcinogen, this was found to be false. Then it was as a VOC, which was eventually redefined. Now it is by the FDA as a potential use in manufacturing of crystal meth. If the government would quit writing new regulations in the Federal Registry and force these to go through legislative channels and committee, we would eliminate most or many unnecessary regulations and end writing new laws. Why do we need to write a law without looking at the one that might already apply to the situation. Why do we regulate the middle corporate user on use of goods, when the general public uses much more of many chemicals without regulations. WalMart sells a huge volume of resin unregulated and into home shops or garages than the manufacturing sectors do in some cases. Though no one is smartly regulating the production in our society. If the product is so hazardous we can not use it, how can it be produced to sell in the public. Then they just commissioned (funded) 5100 new IRS agents, if taxes do not rise we all have to assume that there will be a change in the return on taxes. Anytime anything in government grows, it uses tax dollars and we have to turn this train around. Ok, Off our soap box…
CrateandBasket.comSince 1916, Made in the USA, with Arkansas select harvested hardwood logs. Some even off our own land !
Saw a great bumper sticker a few days ago:DONT STEAL!The government hates competition….On a serious note, not all blame can be made on the government or corporate world. The general public demands low prices and doesnt care where the items comes from. Made Walmart into the conglomerate that it is…..Last edited by schodackbassman on March 2nd, 2011, 10:38 pm, edited 1 time in total.
