BassFan.com has reported today that one of the cooler standalone events planned for this year is Kota Kiriyama’s American Dream tournament at Lake Pickwick, Ala., scheduled for Oct. 23–24. It’s a team tournament with a low entry fee ($150), but the grand prize is an expense–paid trip with Kota to fish Lake Biwa in Japan (where Manabu Kurita recently tied the largemouth world record).
The City of Decatur’s certainly getting behind the event. It held a press conference on Friday to announce the details – U.S. congressman Parker Griffith and State Sen. Arthur Orr helped announce it. Kiriyama was in Decatur in preparation for this week’s Pickwick Bassmaster Elite Series.
