I saw this on Cabelas site today: ” Perko Reduced-Glare 2-Mile Visibility Stern Lights” http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/templ … &noImage=0
The best option for folks who think late about it is the Livorsi brand. Though it is costly! BCB
Wow, Those Livoskis are pretty cool. I just do not want to cut on my boat to make it fit. I have seen a boat on the lake with a LED Anchor light, and it was super bright. Just have not been able to find out who makes it. Oh well, not the end of world, but some more visibility is always good. Thanks, Eric
I took a look at the Lavorsi page, and man, I could imagine a BassCat with the side mount billet throttle and one of the racing steeling wheels….not to mention some gage bling!…..It would really cost a guy, but it would be one of a kind!
All of the Livorsi products are top notch, and top dollar. Great folks too!
I replaced the bulb that was out in my achor light. Now my anchor light stays on when I turn it off, it just gets dimmer. The only other thing that I did was replace my cranking battery. Any ideas what is going on, light worked as it should before the bulb went out. Front running lights and everything else electrical works as it should.
There is a small market for the night fishing crowd and this is something weve had very little request for. And we live in the middle of four night tournaments a week.
I think the only regulations used (USCG) say that when anchored, you must have a white lite that is visible from 360 degrees. While underway, you have to have the usual red/green in front, showing red to port, and green to starboard, with a white light that is clearly behind both (it does not have to be on the stern apparently, but must be visible for 360 degrees. IE if you have a cabin or something that blocks the forward view of the white light, you need a light up high on the cabin in addition to the one on the stern.)So swapping sides seems to be completely legal.2008 Pantera Classic2014 Mercury Pro XS 200
These days we (wife) only night fish maybe 3 or 4 times a yr on very choice nights. Though adding another base will be for us for sure. It is a nice added feature . I was just asking. Kinda figured a few die hard nite owls had probably inquired through the yrs2013 PANTERA 2MERCURY 200 PRO XSMINNKOTA 80LB FORTREX25 fury
I do a LOT of after-dark fishing myself. Sometimes starting way before daylight, or ending well after sunset. Night fishing is my favorite time. Grew up fishing off the dams of private lakes at night. Caught my biggest fish there with the exception of when Toledo Bend opened up. A friend and I had a fishing experience down there like no other the first spring it was accessible (Louisiana end). I dont remember exactly when, somewhere around the early 70s I think. My first bass boat had me installing black lights (which I did not think much of after use, other than it looked cute to see the fishing lines glowing in the dark). Should have bought stock in OFF as well. Back then there were no light restrictions. Heck, there were no lights that I remember unless you had a really big boat. We were in an aluminum boat with a rear-mounted 30hp Merc (I think 30, that might not be right, it was owned by my friend).2008 Pantera Classic2014 Mercury Pro XS 200
Not for sure how bcb wires the front navigation and anchor light switch. not sure If the a 10 switch has to be turned on for the bow switch to be active. Might be possible that the bow switch is on. Another thing I would check and should be checked regular if the terminal block at the back of the boat (make sure all connection are tight. Was is possible during the battery change you bumped that terminal block? Just a couple thoughts.2013 PANTERA 2MERCURY 200 PRO XSMINNKOTA 80LB FORTREX25 fury
Heres a possible troubleshooting procedure.Plug your anchor light in with the “Main power switch” in the off position. Your anchor light should be off.Now turn on your “Main power switch” and be sure that your “Lights” switch on the dash is in the off position. Is your anchor light on or Off? If it is on as you suggest, then operate the “Rocker switch” on the front of the boat (near the trim up and down buttons) and the anchor light should go off and on from this switch. Leave this rocker switch in the center position and your light should be off. I understand that the reason for this switch is to be able to turn on your anchor light from the front while night fishing. I tried it on my boat and that is exactly how it works. Let us know if this solves your question about the anchor light.Everyone should believe in something. I believe Ill just go fishing!
Redngoo, thanks for info it was switch on bow was on and I didnt think to check that.
Thanks guys, the switch on bow was on.
