hpthe new console design has a pocket between it and the gunnel to allow for longer rods to extend further rearward, I can keep 8 footers on the deck of my p2 with a couple inches to spare. I do not know when the feature was added, as the drivers console on my 08 does not have this feature while the second conslole that was added in 2011 has it.Treat everyday like it might be the last
