Another Electronics question?

Ok! I have a Lowrance HDS 10 Gen2 with Lss 2 that is gonna go over to the new boat. I want to change up what I have at the bow though. I am thinking a HDS 7 Gen2 with either Lss 2 or if I can find one a Lss 1. I really want to have the Structure Scan read right below the trolling motor. I also want the HDS 10 & 7 to share way points. I am also thinking of adding 2 of the new external antennas. One at the Trolling motor & one in back near the Lss 2 transducer.Anybody have any thoughts or opinions on exactly how I should go here? What all will I need to accomplish this?Thanks!Dan

Dan,External Antennas will require a NMEA2K Network. Ethernet cable runs between your HDS and LSS unit. You could run another ethernet directly between the LSS units and then all your units would be networked to share info like transducers, waypoints etc.

If I have a cable hooking the 2 LSS the units would they still only read their individual transducers? On the bow am I ok going with LSS 2 or should I try to find a LSS 1? Or should I consider the HDS Touch 7? Is the NMEA2K network box (I assume it is a box) expensive?What part of IN are you in? Dan,Once you network your units with a Ethernet cable you can control about anything in your settings. Each unit can set to run local or global. I have not had any experience with the touch units but appear to be very similar in operation and set up.The NMEA network is a series of cables, tees, power supply, etc. Its really not that complicated. If you put an LSS transducer on the trolling motor I would really take a hard look at Tansducer Shield and Savers “Ram”. It will protect both the side imaging transducer and the 2d puck. I run structure scan on both ends of the boat with 2 LSS 1 units, with both boxes interconnected.

Yes the Transducer savers/protectors are a must on the trolling motor I would think. Gary, gonna send you a PM.Dan

Hey Linc! I am close to Carmi and fish Rend fairly often. Were you there this past Monday? I saw a Bass Cat up by the Railroad. I was fishing out of a Ranger! Oooo!! Did I say that? Dan
