Hey everyone. I have a 2013 puma with 250 Sho that the previous owner and myself have had nothing but headache from fuel readings. There has been approx $800 spent between him and myself and still not working accurately. It has spent total of over 2 months in 2 differant shops in the last 2 years trying to fix this issue. Multiple fuel sending units changed out and some other things the previous owner had changed. I tried to trouble shoot today and this is what results are:
Yesterday the left side worked some, but not consistently. The right showed empty all day even though approx 1/2 tank of gas
Switched the sending units around with no change in consistency in readings. Sometimes I could get the needle to go up when I manually lifted the float, but would not always show full when all the way up. Sometimes it would not move the needle at all. This was on both tanks making sure I changed the panel according to what side I was manipulating. Sometimes I would get a full reading when no sensor was connected, sometimes I would get a empty reading. I used multitester and connected wires like a video showed on you tube to see if my gauge would peg all the way. Once again sometimes it would, sometimes it wouldnt. One time it pegged full and stayed when I disconnected the probes. Sometimes the gauge would show it was full when nothing was connected to the wires.
The last place that got it working the best had said they had found a ground that was loose. Am I wrong in thinking this may be my problem again? Is there a way to tell which ground wire this may be on the Buss panel or can I try to run a new ground straight to cranking battery? On the Left side, there are two ground wires and on the right side there is only one. I tested the voltage from the wires and got L 1.89 volts and R was 1.96 volts. I know this is long and may be confusing, but I need to get this fixed and am tired of taking it to dealers. The first dealer is relatively new so not sure about their experience but the second dealer is very reputable.
Ideas or suggestions.
Thanks
