Rigging out my 12 Puma FTD for the upcoming season. Any one see any issues with the mounting locations for the electronics and PP foot switches that i have layed out. Not a lot of options for one who relies heavily on electronics.Last edited by drharvey on November 15th, 2011, 5:50 am, edited 2 times in total.
Man thats packing em in there. Looks like Iaconellis.
drharvey, have you thought about using the front step teardrop to mount one? Also BCB uses the Acc switch on some and rigs the poles to run together as the hydraulic fluid will just cycle till both are extended or retracted. A simple 3 position switch would do that. They are not fans of the step on switches for moisture reasons.
not understanding completely. would like to understand, will reread…… I am thinking of using the acc. switch that is new to the 12 models next to the foot pedal (Trolling Motor) as a power source for the switches. When needed turn on acc. when not turn off. Also have the remotes so its only for convienance. I looked at the foot switches and i am going to silicone the hole in the bottom of the foot switches to avoid moisture.Last edited by drharvey on November 15th, 2011, 6:01 am, edited 1 time in total.
I am thinking the front tear drop is the only place for the foot switches as i didnt think to not have the cup holder installed at the bow. That would have been the ideal location for the switches. I am concerned about anything close to the carpet, thinking less restrictive movement. Also contemplating on where the hydrowave will be located. Just seems like not enough room for it all.
Yes, use the Acc if you desire, though you can also add both poles to that switch, change the switch out to a 6 pin rocker, and tie the power to the new Acc Master at the bow to give you another master there. It is a bit confusing as there will only bs one master and one power pole switch. If you cant figure it out have your dealer contact the factory. The graph we are talking about moving the RAM mount out to the front pad on the bow further out and give yourself more room. Then you will still have the right step and the other RAM in the recess basin.
oh, yea. that would be an option too. I guess i was thinking i needed at least one place for a step to enter the boat from the ramp. I was looking at RAM components and they have a 1 1/2 inch mount that has two balls (180 degrees opposite) that might open the hydrowave option up to other than rod box.

The acces. switch i am thinking would be for killing power to the switches in rough water and when i know i wont be using them. Structure fishing, etc.Seems there are very few people in Cats that are running multiple units! Not hardly any pics and ideas.
As pointed out, one in the recess and one on the how would give you one step pad we believe. You can also step on the rocker switches to deploy the poles. Not really much different other than dodging the other switch there.
Yes move one of the mounts to the forward pad. With all that in the way no one will be using that area to access the boat. I must say that this reminds me of when I flew small aircraft the instruments could be 50% of the cost of the airplane! Can you tell me what you use two screens for? I have never seen a set up like that.Irv
