First off, new guy here. I live in Minnesota and have fished out of a couple cats, currently own a heavily modified 1976 14 Lund. It gets me out there, but there just isnt enough storage, isnt stable enough for comfort, isnt fast enough (15 horse), and just flat out doesnt sparkle. I have been busting my butt trying to get rid of debt over the last couple years and am very close to being able to comfortably pull the trigger on a new boat. Due to the size of my garage, pocket book, and wifey approval, the Margay is on my short list. Problem is, I havent been able to find anyone around here with a Margay, and the one dealer I was within an hour of in Michigan sold the one he had on the lot two days before I got there. I would really like to sit in one, ride in one, fish from one for a while before pulling the trigger on a pretty large purchase.I am pretty much dead set on a BassCat. I have been to the Minneapolis boat show I dont know how many times. I have fished in Lunds, Alumacraft, Crestliners, Rangers, Skeeters, Stratos, Nitro, etc. None of them come close to the quality I saw first hand in a Cat, well Ranger was maybe close but they are about a 30% premium for a boat in the same size. Now granted, the Margay is the baby of the bunch, and not as refined as a Puma or Eyra. But all the videos I have watched on youtube and compared to other boats in the same category, the Margay is light years ahead of them and at a very reasonable cost. Now for the Richmond, VA tie in. I will be down in Richmond every other week for work from August through Thanksgiving. If there are any Margay owners within a reasonable driving distance for an evening outing and they would be willing to take me out, I would be forever greatful. It will pretty much seal the deal on getting into a Cat as soon as the truck is paid off (next spring ish). Thanks,Tom
