Anyone carry rods on deck reversed?

The classic deck is pretty tight once you get a few rods on it, anyone ever carry rods reversed with the reels to the consoles? Was thinking of adding another bungee on that end to secure close to the reels.Any other suggestions?Last edited by lookingforbcb on January 23rd, 2013, 2:20 am, edited 1 time in total.

Good question, curious myself as after maybe 4 rods gets pretty tight and even a little snug with the four with reel end up front. Not sure I would trust putting the reels at the console end unless definitely have a strap there too. Only negative I could see would be pain in the !!!! for those of us that have to use the set down seat to be up and down getting the rods back in place when changing, unless you rarely change over, but most do change all day long, I think? Maybe someone else has ideas?

Dual straps front and rear would cover this.

I have a Classic too. What I do is load up all the rods on the port side and leave the starboard side open for gear access and to maneuver while fishing. The deck extension provides a bunch of extra room too.

I usually only keep 3-4 rods out(including the one in use). Ive never had a need for 6-8 rods out. Makes me start to question my decisions even more. I am the same, I keep all rods on drivers side. rod tips at the console never under feet

I put dual straps on both sides of my sabre and it works fine. I use the driver side front strap to hold my trolling motor pedal in place while moving. My sabre does not have the recessed area for the pedal so it is unattached and I can move it so as Im turned to either side I can have the pedal always in front of me.
