Was it a wooden body? Could be the wood was still too green when you painted it.

I have had several Red Eye Shads do that. Mine were in a Falcon rattle bait box. Some swell and dont explode. Have some of them as well.

I had that happen to me once, lost a bunch of baits and it really sucked.It was caused on a rainy day when moisture got inside of several boxes. When they dried out in the heat this happened to about 50 baits….Lesson learned, when moisture gets inside your planos, you need to open the lids and let them dry out so they dont bake in an enclosed humid oven!

If you heat set your paint with a heat gun, thats likely your problem. A hair dryer is a lot more forgiving. It sometimes takes weeks before the problem shows up.
