Anyone here have experience on Wright Patman Lake in Texarkana, TX?

Tourney there next weekend. Lake is at 242 and rising. Conservation pool is 223. It fishes best for us at @225. Im open to any ideas. We fished it back in April and spent two days (prefish and tourney) caught 3 largemouth and the largest of the 3 was about 11 inches…… so we have NOTHING figured out. Probably wont be able to make a prefish trip this time so we may just take the map and close our eyes and pick a spot if no one has any ideas….. PLEASE HELP……

this is MediaBass South Arkansas division. Our tourney director feels the need to fish Patman for some reason to try and draw Texarkana boats. thing is they only show up there and Millwood and then only when the fishing is good. I despise people who do that. Not sure about the Saturday morning tournaments… Im betting several of the Parks are closed at the moment. Weve been asking our director to move it but for whatever reason he wont.

The reason I ask is that my brother lives in Texarkana and fishes WP and Millwood. He said he has similar experiences fishing other tourney trails… They want his money to go fish lakes where he has to travel, like Dardanelle, ouachita, TB, Greers Ferry, Chicot. But when it comes time to suggest fishing WP or Millwood, no one wants to go. Just not going to make everyone one happy when these regional tourneys put out a trail. To me, if you sign on to fish a series, fish the whole series. From the start. I fished that lake probably 15-18 years ago. One of the best trips of my life. We were catching 50 a day and some pretty good ones too. The water was about 2 foot high and we were flipping flooded timber with plastics. It was a blast.

Been fishing patman since early 70s, but not at 240+ (doesnt get that high real often). Back in the last flood (1990), we were catching fish by setting in the woods and throwing to deeper water and brings shallow. Places where bluffs were worked best. On a rise, Patman fish usually dont follow the rise but lay back.
