Just trying to get some feedback on the performance…I need a back up prop, and if a 24 isnt too big for my Etec 150 HO I may jus use it as my everyday prop and the 24 Raker II I have on their now as my backup… Anybody using a 24 fury currently on a 150 engine…?
Tom, Try having your Raker balanced. I had mine done by Mark Croxton and Wow what a difference. It pops my boat up as quick or quicker than my Trophy! Mark took a little bit of cup out of the blades and the ride has improved by a lot. It it as smooth as the trophy without any speed loss and gets up on pad easier. I will have to wait for spring to really dial it in, but it is running about 64 mph and smooth as a babys bottom. It even handles the rough water like the Trophy. I think it was some of the best money I have spent having the prop reworked. Let me know if you have any questions – would love to talk and see how your Sabre is doing. Wayne
I too am very interested in finding posts with similar setups as ours with a Fury Prop. I think I could hit 67 plus easily if I the bench marks translates correctly. My best to date with my current setup with Rakker II 24P prop is 66.5 on the GPS. I think I can still go faster with my Rakker too. Wished BassCat could post some numbers with this setup…. I might bite the bullet and buy it to justify having two props. I havent read a negative post on the Fury Prop yet. misr12
Hey Tom, Call DAH propellers, they are known over the world to be 1 of the best for guys like us that want that extra something in setup…..Im sure Rick at Bass Cat has met or heard of the guys, I know the original Boss their or founder was a Merc and OMC employee and I believe was very important to their prop divisions…..The company is purely the best……do a google of DAH Props, I believe they are out of Fon du Lac WI……They do not have email and want to talk to you over the phone or in person, simply have them Make your Raker 2 a animal, In some opinions the Raker 2 is a very aggressive prop, and they will completely tune it to your hull type, driving style and motor power……Call me if you need more assistance……Oh DAH does props for Race teams, alot of the off shore power boat guys, and of course the Power Sick Hydrostream boaters in the mid west…….They will make that thing screamYour Signature …
I have a DAH blueprinted 25 Trophy. It has been my main prop for the past 3 years. It is an excellent performer for sure. They can work magic with most any prop, boat, motor combo. I would only spend the money with a shop like this if I stayed away from shallow water hazards. If you run alot of shallow, stumpy, gravely bottomed waters, I would hesitate to use a shop that charges 200-300 dollars a pop for repairs. Its all in what you want, but, as Brandon said above, they will get your rig running like you want. Just know that once you start tinkering it becomes addictive and before you know it you have spent 500 dollars working a 400 dollar prop. Hope you are enjoying this holiday weekend!! I usually test mine thoroughly (one year) before sending it in to get redone (repaired). After one year I usually have dings in the prop and send it off to get the dings repaired and then balanced and blueprinted for my boat. I use a guy out of Opelika, Alabama and he does a great job for a reasonable price. He is also a heck of a nice guy. CorkyLast edited by Corky on November 28th, 2008, 6:16 pm, edited 1 time in total.
Branon, I called DAH today no answer. Must be related to holidays. Will call this monday. Not sure what to expect but will be anxious to talk to the guys. I have no idea what to expect from a re-worked good prop but willing to consider options vs. $500 dollars for new Fury Prop. Branon, any idea if I could spin 25P Fury? I think the conventional wisdom is to turn a 24P prop for Etec 150HO. What are your thoughts. misr12
My two copper coins. 24 on the Fury for your 150, it has a ton of cup on the very tips of the ears.
