Does anyone know if the Cul-M-Rite Pro Pak III is an appropriate charger for the Odyssey 31 series batteries?The Pro Pak III is in my 2006 PIV as standard on-board charger, but, when I got to the Odyssey website and look up the marine chargers on Odysseys approved charger list, the Cul-M-Rite products do not show up on Odysseys limited approved charger list.Is the Pro Pak III ok to use on the Odyssey batteries?

Since the question of battery chargers came up, I have a ProMarine Promite 5 that says on the case it is lead acid and gel compatible. This is a one bank that is on the cranking battery. I added a HDS 8 w/structure scan and the cranking battery I had just wasnt up to challenge. I am replacing it with the Sears AGM 31 series recommended on this board. Is this battery charger ok? Have there been any issues with it in the past? Thanks.

The charger should work fine, though your battery might use a bit more amperage every now and then.

Use a bit more amperage every now and then to fully charge? Is that what you mean? If so, whats the best way to give it more amperage now and then?

Just looked up the specs on the Promite 5 . Wouldnt you know it, its 5 amps 🙂
