http://www.ardentreels.com/products/index4.asp?page=1The XS600 is a smoking deal at the listed price! When they are gone they are gone, everything is moving to the Edge line or the less expensive line of reels made overseas.
I bet that does alot for their dealer network !

You can get them for the same price at Tackle Warehouse and I bet other places will have them at the same price or lower too. I think JohnM is doing Ardnet a favor with his post. Kudos to JohnM for spreading the info. Also, any reasonable person is going to price point these reels for the best deal if they are interested. One thing Ive been waiting for is a LH version. Now they are offering LH reels in the new released Edge series and I will be seriously considering them because Ive always wanted to try one of their reels. John, Thanks for reminder now I can start the process to shop for the best deal.
I dont think he was hating on John but rather Ardent for undercutting their dealers. I made my own product once and was very careful about not doing that.
Ive been in manufacturing all my life, and understand dealer networking, sales, and mostly loyalty. I wasnt hating on the thread, just going around dealers in the network, and if you dont understand that you need to be in retail or manufacturing and work without pay to stay afloat, then have a vendor go around you, and see how youd feel.
Ardent prolly cant get dealers to take last years models on this late in the year. They should have wholesaled them to an eBay store but they may not be able to afford that loss. Never used an Ardent but Ive got a friend thats a fishing guide and was on thier Prostaff one year. He didnt care for them and went back with Shimano the next year.
I think that this shows fisherman dont like the SEC or the Big 12.

Believe me Fly knows all about sales and loyalty. He owns his owns business too Doug. He realizes that a business is separated from competition by price, value, and customer service. His paycheck is also dependent on his sales. He knows “How it feels”. I feel your pain Doug. Sales and owning your own business aint easy these days. With all the Govt BS and economy is the shape it is in we all are doing well just to still be in business. We are on the same team bro.Last edited by Bama96 on December 15th, 2011, 2:18 am, edited 1 time in total.

Thats our reality in an ever changing marketplace. These dynamics have very little to do with the original post that was value added and extended as a positive.
dbasketman you have a strange way of thinking. First thing I get from your post is we now need to worry about posting a sale going over at cabelas because you dont think its fair. Secondly, you feel that if your vendor cuts your throat its a consumer issue and not an issue between you and your vendor. Sorry, the buying public is going to buy wherever they can get the best price plain and simple. All I see JohnM17 doing is letting us know theres a sale going on. If anyone has an issue with that then take it up with Ardent. If one of my fellow basscaters can let me know where I can buy my Gloomis at half price and they dont do it I would think that guy is a skunk lol. In my opinion John deserved a thank you not a slam.
