In all honesty, some of the comments made here against BC boats is beyond comprehension. NONE of you, and I mean NONE of you, who have complained, whined, whimpered, and cursed, have a SINGLE clue as to how much this tournament MEANS to the BassCat Family!!! If the management team at BassCat feels it is in the best interests not to have a tournament, THEN, there should not be one. ANY of the business complaining about the money lost this year, need to stop their crying, as the hundreds of thousands of dollars BassCat has spent to put this tournament on in years past has meant to them. Get it straight, In the mid 90s, I called several resorts to inquire about rooms(cabins) for rent and I heard nothing but how GREAT it was that they were booked, and didnt even have the decency to point me towards a resort that had rentals available. Most of the resort owners were fantastic, but, you could easily tell, who shouldnt be a resort owner. BassCat is one of the best run companies I have ever been associated with, and as soon as I can be back with the family, believe me, I will. Anyone complaining about the decision, needs to take a step back, and think about just what it takes BassCat to not only put this tournament on from a financial point, but what it takes from an emotional point. Anyone complaining is simply SELFISH…Furthermore…If those of you who are complaining, thought a bit, it is the SELFISHNESS of those like you, that have put our FINE country in the HOLE it is. Learn to understand what others have to deal with. If our country was run with the effort that the Pierces run BassCat, we would not be in peril.Last edited by bcpuma2 on May 9th, 2011, 3:46 pm, edited 1 time in total.

I have a problem with some of the boldness and calling out others. Selfishness? I fish one, (1), that is ONE tournament a year, if I can…the OI. I have missed probably as many as I have made, in the 22 years of BassCat ownership. It is a fun event that some people take more seriously than others. Way too serious. But thats them, not me and it doesnt bother me if the OI is cancelled. I like fishing it, so that is selfish I guess. If its cancelled, it doesnt change my opinion that I have the best boat, so that is selfless on my part. Guess I am then middle of the road.BassCat has been overly gracious to host this tournament, free of charge or small charge for years. It costs a lot and takes a lot of time and effort by them and a lot of volunteers to pull it off. Do they need to have an OI? No, I would still buy a BassCat, as most others. It is nice but not necessary.Just dont call out and group everyone together that was disappointed as being “selfish”. We all love this country as much and maybe more than most…….there are other issues that have put this country in the situation it is in, from family unity to technology, to education in schools. You do not know how it is to walk in anyone elses shoes, neither do I……and we can only hope for better days ahead for all of us, especially those affected by recent floods/tornados and other issues. bcpuma2…you need to sit down, take a deep breath, and relax.A. The complaining has now stopped for a few days and people have accepted it. Now YOU have brought it up again. B. BassCat has allowed folks to vent who wanted to…thats the BassCat way of doing things. Most manufacturers dont even have an owners forum where a person can offer up an opinion. C. Everyone who has complained, knows how much BCB wanted to have this tournament. I know it pained BCB to make the decision to cancel it. D. To accuse anyone who voiced an opinion which was disagreeing with the cancellation as being selfish, is absurd. And for the record…I didnt complain…so I guess Im not one of the selfish ones.
