The event will be held on Lake Norfork next week! We have been through this before and it is more than manageable. The lake is scheduled to crest at 572 on Thursday the first day of the event. The event is to be held on Lake Norfork and all will be fine! We are making contingency plans now, and the UACofE has been wonderfully cooperative. We should have a great event with more fun than expected! We have been inundated by calls about the National media attention. Things are definitely different today for people in the low lying areas. Though in the hills of Arkansas the water will all run off by the weekend and things are to return to normal in most aspects. We see no major issues that we can not handle. Road conditions are improving and there are no ongoing obstacles on travel, lodging or food. The incoming bridges have been briefly closed today and we have just received our third 100 year flood in the last 26 years. Tentative planning is ongoing to release any changes by Monday on take off and weigh in. We expect the water level to go to 574 ourselves by Weigh in Friday or sooner. And more rain is expected which will impact that some. The overall capacity of Lake Norfork is 580 feet. We fished it right at 580 in 2003 (? – memory) and as low as the 540s number. It has been as low as hte low 530s just prior to the event. The hills of Arkansas are a lot different than Mississippi mud and Texas sand. We wont have any major issues by “T” time. Look for more updates and information to be released on the Bass Cat Owners Board by Monday prior to the event! Thanks for your time! BCB
