BCB, can you tell me what changed after MY2012 to allow the strapless Sunbrella Supreme cover to fit an Eyra? The reason I ask is I have a 2012 Eyra and ordered the Sunbrella Supreme strapless cover from the parts website and I received a cover that had 2 sets of straps (in addition to the 2 ratchets at the transom, there is a bow strap and a strap on either side mid deck). Apparently the cover they sent me is called a “Reduced Strap Cover.” It is not low profile and surprisingly loose as compared to all the anecdotes I have read here about how tight the new covers were (especially on first install). When I called Aurora to notify them, they said the strapless cover would not fit on a 2012, but would on MY2013 onward. When I asked them what changed between after 2012 model years, Jason said he didnt know for sure whether the seats were moved or different rub rail or what, but they never got the strapless covers to work on 2012 boats. They said the only way to get a strapless cover for a 2012 was to bring it to their shop. I thought the Eyra from 2011 until now was basically unchanged from a dimension standpoint. Very disappointed and looking for options other than refund or driving to Auroras shop. Thanks in advance.Last edited by HSVBCB on June 18th, 2018, 10:16 pm, edited 1 time in total.
I had a Sunbrella strapless cover for my 2011 Eyra and it fit very tight. It had the ratchets at the transom.

When I spoke to Allan in parts, he said he thought the rub rail changed after 2012 but wasnt 100% sure. He directed me to Jason at Aurora and I got the response in the OP above. Hopefully BCB can confirm. It took over 12 weeks to get this one due to a mistake in getting the order placed in a timely manner. Im willing to wait another 4-6 weeks to get the strapless one if it will for sure fit. Thanks.
The Bass Cat store says the strapless covers are for 2013 and newer only. I was told the same thing when I called Aurora. Apparently there was a change to the top cap.
They should fit on all Eyra models and we don’t believe there was a change since the T style mushroom insert on th rub rail. The strapless covers should fit, though they were designed in 2012. The fit had more to do with development of the cover style. There were learning curves for Aurora and there is no tolerance for error on the design and the straps must be very tightly installed. Risers for the console area, front and rear decks are critical to a good fit also. BCB
With My 2014 Eyra I had the sunbrella strapless cover and it was perfect. The fit was very tight but it was flawless and I towed with it quite a bit over the 3 years I had it with no issue. I was not aware of any changes to the Eyra that would cause the fit to be different year to year. I had the removable dual console and never needed to use the supports on the front and rear deck.Chris CoupelPaulina, La.

Should Allan call Aurora to authorize the exchange? Or should I just get a refund and start a whole new order? My fear is they try and modify this one when I send it back and I dont get a good fit.
Make sure if you have the Ultrex or might get it to inform them. I recently had a Sunbrella cover made for my 2017 dual console Eyra with Ultrex. Cover fits perfect. I really like the new style with the ratchets on the side vs. the back. I had a Sunbrella cover for a single console but ended up keeping the passenger console in all the time plus I switched out the Fortrex to an Ultrex and the cover wouldnt fit with the Ultrex.
I should have clarified that my comments were based on the Cougar & Puma FTD. Sorry for any confusion.
Called Aurora and spoke to Jason to explain the mix up on the strapless cover vs the “reduced strap.” He said the shipped what BCB Parts ordered and I would have to deal with BCB on correcting the issue. Of course, spoke to Allan in parts, he apologized and said he would contact Aurora to have a new strapless cover made and shipped. Told me to hold onto the wrong cover for now and will send return shipping label when I get the new one. This process/order started back on 23 March, but at least I know it will be right in the end due to BCB stepping up as usual. Thanks to Allan and BCB for your continued outstanding customer support.
