The previous owner of my boat advised me he treated ours with Scotch Guard (takes almost two cans) once a year and Ive continued to do that. Has worked so far and the cover is 4-5 years old. I do cover mine with plastic tarp also much of the year. Something reflective because the black cover just bakes my baits in the boat which is parked outside in the sun.
