Bought a used boat that has burned 750 gallons of fuel acording to the smart gage the boat is over 10yrs old Cougar 225 just wondering is that a lot ?or average? Sounds Low to me and it runs real strong.
Thats not many Gallons used for a ten year old rig. If you average around 15 GPH then this is only 50 hours overall use unless the gauge has been reset. Has someone check engine hours on the control unit at the engine and figure out actual hours.
I need to get it in, just to check, is there any way to check on the serial number whats been done to this engine? I had a mercury mechanic tell me once if its running good leave it alone.
