On my last trip out fishing i ended up having a bearing go out on me and messed up the spindle. The two axles are different bearing/spindle sizes so im thinking that one was replaced before, what is the correct size for factory installed axle?Im told i can buy an axle and put it on myself for near the price that it would cost to have someone replace the spindle (its really messed up) so im thinking of going with that option. Can someone tell me what the axle specs are as far as spindle size, length and anything else available?This is the rear axle with brakes and im going to replace the backing plates and lines for the brakes as well.Would just assume buying an axle with hydraulic brakes already attached to save me time on the install. Any help would be appreciated.

I had a bearing fail on a front axle. (Shame on me)Pete in parts was extremely helpful in the repair. He informed me that the spindle was welded in place and that you cant replace just the spindle. If Im wrong, ignore me.If youre replacing the backing plate (I assume youd be cutting it off)….I guess you wouldnt have an issue though.Sorry I cant help with any specs.I know it stinks buying a freshy from parts, but it will be correct and seamless.

I have a 2000 Jag and the hull ID# is BASC1350D000 trailer VIN 458BC2123Y1006637I have a local trailer supply shop that i was going to purchase an axle from here locally but want to make sure i get the recommended size spindle.Thanks for the help.

We do not spec spindle size only. UFP has some excellent technical information available (Unique Functional Products) which can help you to determine what was on your rig new. Those were originally UFP axles and were the same bearing and spindle, front and rear.

i just replaced the same axle on my 02 cougar from bass cat, the brake system is different on the new ones calipers hubs, but the axle came with everything so its pretty easy to replace

Pull the hub off the side that you didnt mess up and match the spindle to that side. That will let you put your brakes and hubs back on with the same brgs.Dont worry about what it came with just match what you have.Johnny

You will be hard pressed to find any better pricing from other sources other than basscat! And you will get OEM to boot!!
