Just got my 04 Optimax back from the shop from having the oil reservoir on the engine replaced. When I picked it up he told me that I have a water leak at the bottom of the head. He said while running it on the hose he could shine a light down in the back of the engine and see a pretty good water leak. What could I be looking at here????Jim EbarbMany, LA (Toledo Bend Lake)2004 Cougar/ 225 OptimaxHumminbird Helix 12 Chirp SI on BalzOut Mount at bowLowrance HDS 7 at bowHumminbird Helix 12 Mega SI on Ram Mount at ConsoleLowrance HDS 8 in dash at console
probably something simple but the worst part is that the power head will likely have to be pulled to fix
yeah and it probably wont be ready until the week of Oct 10th. That being said Ill be more than happy to check your waypoints out while Im there
Power head gasket most likely. You do have to pull power head, but you dont have to take anything but the power head bolts loose. You can pick up powerhead high enough to replace gasket without taking anything loose. You a buddy and an engine lift/ cherry picker can do it in an hour or so.

TOY Totally On You! Toys all cost because we dont make money with them! If your equipment breaks down on the job its maintenance, though whatever your hobby is we usually dont use them for income. Then maintenance becomes a cost which piles up. 4×4 trucks, side by sides, guns, bows, jeeps, tractors, motorcycle, deer stands, mountain bike, hunting leases, boat docks, planes, sports cars, Zero Turn Mower (yes, we know you told the wife that was a work item! shhh!) and just about anything we buy that doesnt generate income. These are all toys just like our wives jewelry, flowers, DVRs, X Box (you got it for her Christmas), piano, Keurig… Hold it the scorecards tilted.
