Balzout Mount

Im not sure what size unit you plan to mount really matters. I also thought about bolting my Balzout on my Cougar. I could not reach from the rod locker or through the trolling motor access panel. That fiberglass is thicker than you might think. I went ahead and just used stainless steel screws on mine. We install a 4 screw access plate under the foot pedal in the recess area.

Cut a 4″ hole in well under the TM pedal thru bolt your mount then cover the hole with a access cover panel then remount the TM pedal.

None of them have the access unless the RAM was installed at BCB. The part is to be installed only for access.

I am installing a hds 8 with the big ram mount. Do I need to install this access hole and add a backing playe for machine screws or will big sheet metal screws be sufficient. I think it has 5 or 6 which is suffiecent to hold the unit.guess Im concerned with stress cracking issue?2013 PANTERA 2MERCURY 200 PRO XSMINNKOTA 80LB FORTREX25 fury

Seems to me Im seeing a lot of new handles/names on the board mostly with new Caracals. Caracal seems to taken off and brought in new family members here at BCB. Welcome one and all. Congrats to BCB for a bold intelligent move.

1 ordered the Balzout mount on my 2017 Caracal to hold my Helix 10 and it does a great job. Unlike the Ram mounts I previously used on my other cats, this mount does not require constant re-tightening. The Standard Mount should work just fine for you unless you want the unit super high, which would require a longer arm.
