I dont want to come off negative or bash any other manufacturers, but it seems to me BassCat is WAY ahead of the competion here. I was just snooping around on BBC and noticed that pretty much every new boat besides BCB consoles look extremely generic. Many look like theyre just made of plastic and slapped in there. Maybe some of it is me being partial to BCB. It just seems that time and time again BassCat is ahead of the curve. Thumbs up to BCB for offering such a great product!
Thanks for the comments and there are some defined console lines that are replicated by others. There are companies that have replicated (copied) many areas of former production boats in other areas as well. Seems easier to just splash a product and relabel it for most. We do try to be original in the design concepts.
No plastic inserts & leg room!
Well, I might be overstating this a little bit. I can definitively make the statement that I have owned three different brands of BassBoats, and I have ridden in most different brands, and I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that I have yet to be in a bassboat with the same quality and in depth thought put into the design of a console as I have experienced with BassCat. My BassCat console never rattled, not once. Also, I had no concerns about the safety of the electronics installed in the solid fiberglass consoles. I have never been as well protected from the elements as when sitting behind a BassCat console. These BassCat boats are just very well designed and thought out. I really loved mine. Corky

CorkyNote even close. BassCat not only has the strongest functional consoles but by far the best looking consoles out there today. Major kudos to BassCat for being fluid to this detail.
Truly, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I have wanted to buy a BassCat for years. I love the idea of a family-owned company that builds and stands behind its boats, right here in the good old USA. As far as I am concerned, there is no one else in the bass boat market that comes even close to the stature of BassCat as a company. What has stopped me from buying? Styling. Specifically, console styling. Prior to the recent re-styling, BassCat had the most unappealing console styling on the market. The consoles were bulbous, squatty, too wide, and just plain ugly. Obviously, there is no way I’m going to plop down 10s of thousands of dollars for something I feel is ugly. I was very excited when I heard that BassCat was going to re-style their consoles. And, re-style they did. However, the new design is completely overdone. Someone please tell me what the objection is to a simple, sleek, swept-back, and fast-looking design like Ranger’s? I will no doubt get flamed for posting this and I normally wouldn’t bother except that the unabashed and lavish praise that has been heaped on by posters in this thread piqued my frustration. BassCat owners may commence firing but if it were my company, I would more highly value honest feedback than the lavish praise of the loyal followers. Macsimus: Ill take function over looks, the BCB console keeps the wind off me and my partner. Up here in the frozen northwest, when youre making a 50 mile run its important to prevent brain freeze. I think the r console is prettier from the front, but dont like the plastic in it or any of the other companies that are full of plastic components. I like the old BCB consoles with the sides reaching to the floor even better than BCBs newer ones. Mike
Macsimus, you answered your own question. Why not build somethink sleek like Ranger? The boat brands are different. Rangers console looks sleek, and also similar to Stratos, Skeeter, if you look at overall concept. Bulbous would be more Nitro, imho. The common thread to all other consoles it the plastic insert dash, which fades, cracks, and looks plain, no offense to anyone. Bass Cat has always stood apart in design and ideas. That is why each builder is unique. It still wont appeal to everyone, but it is an eye catcher either way.96 Eyra/12 Mercury 175 Pro XS with 2015 single axle trailer2017 Victory Gunner
Beauty in the eye of the beholder thats for sure. You have right to your opinion because its your money but for my money Ill take BassCats console design over Ranger or any other OEMs console plastic face plate look any day of the week. To me they look cheaply built and vanilla. Hope you find what you are looking for but for style and design Ill take BassCat hands down because they are way ahead of the curve when it comes to console designs and looks now.
I respect the frustration. I personally dont mind the look of my 02 cougars console. At the time there were sleeker consoles on the market. 10yrs later, mine hasnt faded or cracked. It has ample room for a killer stereo, a hot foot, and my legs. I see the beauty in the function……and my knees arent even close to hitting. Im not huge but at 63″ Ive had some painful bruising from other consoles. Also, as far as how fast it looks– at 80mph most people dont comment
