Does anyone know of a BCB that has just a jet black color on it? For example the same black that a lot of college football teams are using on their helmets these days. If so is there anywhere i could see pictures because it would look pretty sweet imo, and if not what are the reasons for not using the color?
You likely wont find an owner that has a solid black (gel coat) color due to it doesnt have the shine that a malibu color has. Gel colors other than white or yellow just arent used much today as in years past. The black in the two above is actually black flake (malibu) and not gel. Both are malibu red (black with a small amount of red flake). The color below is malibu silver (black w/ silver flake).
Pure Jet Black is the main flake in these boats. The accent in the mix is the added color. BCB does not offer a Jet Black as it really has no POP. The accent colors add the hue or tone.
A lot of those black boats definitely look awesome, but every time I look at a boat that has a black top cap, I cringe slightly. Those boats get hot, hot hot.
I have had many Cats with different color top caps. I have malibu silver now and it is not any hotter than the other colors I have had. When the temp is 90 + it doesnt matter what your in, its hot! The only thing with black is I clean it more.
All of these black boats look great. I especially like the red, black, white color combos. Do you guys with black boats have trouble with scratches? My truck is a very dark color and it shows every little scratch.
