Bass Cat Boats will be closed tomorrow due to inclement weather. The present conditions in Mountain Home are such that we are not going to allow the staff to risk driving to work on this ice. The ice is now already nearing 1/4″ on the roads and it is sleeting heavily now. The conditions south of us are to be much worse, as they are north. We hope to reopen and answer the phones again on Wednesday morning. Pending we have power still. For now the facility is closed and the situation will be decided daily if this worsens. The area south is said to expect up to 3″ of ice at this time. Sorry for the difficulty due to Mother Nature. BCB

This is why I chose BassCat. Always looking at the bigger picture. Everybody be safe
I agree folks, be safe ! We actually pulled the plug last nite on production at our mill in LR, but o.k. here this morning, should worsen tonite though. I went to the “big house” at the farm yesterday and drained everything in case power is lost, and made sure my feeders were all working so my “pets” would have some sustenance ! Gotta take care of the critters ! D.
Yall be careful up there. DFW eastside didnt get solid thank goodness. Judd Lasiter
Your airport sucked yesterday though Judd…We didnt see the ground on landing until we were over the runway lights..Nice smooth landing but scarier than any flight Ive ever been on. Ceiling couldnt have been more than a few hundred feet. Youd see plane run up to take off and as soon as they pulled the stick back they were gone..C.O.D. Jr. III
Everyone please be safe — no need to take chances by driving an extra few MPH just to get somewhere a few minutes faster. I talked to Kota Kiriyama last night as he towed his new Puma FTD from the factory back home to Alabama — he said the roads were treacherous. Unless you need to be out there, dont go.
This was posted around noon CST today by the weather crew at ABC 33/40 in Birmingham … Here is their Link Here are some specific spot reports on icing. Please remember this is only the tip of the iceberg. It would be impossible to list all of the afflicted areas. When it gets to freezing rain, even 1/4 inch accumulation can cause all kinds of problems. In fact, even 1/10 ice accumulation can turn highways and bridges into a skating rink.* At Mountain Home in Baxter County Arkansas, ice thickness of 1 to 1.5 inches was clinging to branches. The North Arkansas Electric Cooperative was opening shelters across North Arkansas for people with no power. South of town, numerous tree limbs were breaking and power was out.* Numerous trees were falling around Yellville, Arkansas in Marion County. There was a 3/4-inch ice load in the trees. That is very significant. The ice load was even thicker in the trees at Moko, Arkansas in Fulton County. It had built to 1.5 inches and power was out.* Bentonville reports widespread power outages. Power is out in most of the city.* The town of Fern, in Franklin County Arkansas, has numerous fallen trees from the heavy ice load along Highway 215. Power is out.

Yesterday (and today) have been just one of those misty dreary days. No help to the water sheds but it is helping the yards and foundations. You are going to have to stay a while next time. JL
