I was hoping someone could shed some light on my livewells on my 09 Cougar FTD. My livewells will fill and empty with the knob on the starboard side. The pump in / pump out solid state buttons on the left side of the console don’t seem to be working. From my understanding, these are supposed to quickly pump water in and out with the push of a button, correct? Or am i missing something?

Sounds like you have a faulty A10 panel. Check the connection on backside of panel. That’s about all you can do if you have power there.

I can hear a relay sound when i push the buttons, like something is happening. Does this indicate that the switch is functioning? Can you check voltage on the back of the panel?

Pull the cartridges out and make sure they’re not locked up, or at least check to see if you’re getting voltage to the pumps.

Go to the back of the boat (bilge area) and look on the inside of the transom where you will find a junction strip with several wires attached. Disconnect the ground from the cranking battery, then proceed to disconnect each wire, clean with wire brush and reinstall. I’ve found that many times the A10 panel doesn’t function correctly with these connections are bad.

You can check outgoing voltage on the AMP plug from the rear with probes on a voltmeter. You also can verify positive power is moving, by grounding from the battery and going to the Green wires feeding the pumps, with the positive probe.

Its not always the panels and on a 2009 checking the grounds at the terminal block is a good idea.
