Last week my fishing partner calls me and says he has a job for us. Hes one of those guys that knows everyone and everyone is his friend. Anyway one of his friends has a friend who was an advertising photographer and had a contract to shoot some photos and video for rain gear. He was wanting to do the shoot on the water and had heard he had a friend (me) with a nice looking new boat. Well it hadnt rained in about 8 weeks but he thought we had a chance of rain on Sunday. I told him we could shoot at the lake I live on if he wanted and he thought that was a great idea. Also told him we may get an early start and have a couple of 5 pounders in the live well for him. He thought that was a good idea too but I think he was a little skeptical (our lake has been on fire for the last several weeks so I was showing off a little).Well he turned out to be a better weatherman than any of the guys on TV cause sure enough it rained all morning. He showed up with his crew of 3 guys and 3 sets of brand new rain gear. We had some lightning so we only had one 4 pounder in the box when he arrived but we got another 5 and 3.5 while he was filming. He loved the new Bass Cat and he got some great pictures and video of the boat running and one of the fish tail walking, etc…… The unusual thing was that one of his models didnt show up so me and my partner got drafted into helping with the shoot. The clothes werent our size so I think he only used us for all the close shots of the jackets and landing the fish (yes I am now a hand model I think). He said he usually just let the models keep the clothes (and that would have been fine with me these were top of the line stuff) but since they werent our size he just cut us a check instead!! Loved the boat so much he asked if he could use it again in the future and I said sure. Now I have a problem, dont know if I should quit my job and go pro as a fisherman or a model. Anyway next spring hopefully youll see a few photos or videos of a sharp Bass Cat Cougar in some of the adds so keep a look out (the good looking hand landing the fish is me).
