Hey Paul, they are a lot of fun arent they? Ive gone to a couple the past few years when held in Worcester Mass. Have had opportunities to speak with Ike, Pete, John Crews, and many others one on one and/or in small groups. Learn lots and hear some great stories. Last year happened to get a picture with the future Classic champion in addition of getting to talk with him a bit (hes funny as hell). In fact Randy mentioned he got some DTs from Ike at that show that played a huge part in his win. John was kind enough to provide info on the prop guy he uses and let me know Furys actually need to be tuned up every so often (want to say 100 hours) but its been a year so maybe it was more then that. Sure Pete showed you guys the knot he uses to connect fluorocarbon to braid which works great. Ive got Ike talking about Champlain before and he gets so excited talking he looses track of time and the moderator has to drag him away to do this presentation. Other pros Ive enjoyed were Dave Walker (great stories), Dave Fritts, and met Don Barone few years back. I didnt know about his writing before that and when first met him, thought he was seriously lost. Hadnt seen anyone with hair and cloths like that since my partying days in the 70s! Ive followed him since and have come to really appreciate his style of writing. I highly recommend folks attend these if they can. Its not just about the presentations, its about meeting the pros one on one plus meeting fellow anglers often making some new friends. I want to thank BCB too for being a sponsor of these programs. Not sure if Im going to make the one in Boxborough MA this year but Ill probably make next years if I dont.
