I guess that would be a pretty cool solution if you are bad about forgetting to put the plug in. I was thinking……its not the exact system as used for our livewell valves but pretty similar, and we all know how those wear out and dont close all the way or the cable comes loose. The thing that scares me about this system is by the time you found out the system failed it would be just as bad or worse then forgetting to put your plug in. I had a friend of mine that forgot to put his plug in several times. I told him to tie it to his steering wheel when he removed it at the end of each trip. He is going on 12 years since he last forgot to the plug in his boat since then.

The easy way to avoid forgetting to put your plug in…is to never take it out. Ive just not ever found any reason to do that.

the problem is here in California they make you remove the plug to make sure your bilge/livewell is dry before you get on the water and when you leave. some lakes even make you wipe dry the boat, live well and motor to make sure you are not spreading the quagga mussels. guys out here are even getting turned away from lakes if they see a few drops. beleieve me it has happened so if you drive 1 or 2 hours to your favorite lake and get turned down during the inspection.

I believe Id move if the only way to get on the water was to pass an inspection every trip. That sounds horrible

What happens if the cable breaks? I forgot to put my plug in once on Pickwick, but fortunately the Puma has such a large bilge area that I could put the plug in from the inside. You wouldnt be able to do that with this system.
