What is the trick in getting the side decals to stay on a boat? I bought an 07 PIV and I have lost the right side twice and lost the left side this weekend. I hate not having the decals on my boat because I think it looks great when they are on. Thanks, Okie

i had the exact same problem and i rubbed it down good with some finger nail polish remover and some WD-40 and got all the old gunk and crap off of there and the key is being patient and letting it dry a day or 2 and then stick the new one on there.

Alcohol does seem to be the best cleaner. We have recently switched to alcohol prep in house and also had the decals adhesion tested in 2008. We have been diligent in trying to improve the adhesion of decals.

If you have a heat gun, warm up the decal after peeling the backing paper off and warm the boat,if no heat gun use a hair dryer.

Ok, So what would you guys advise for removing the existing decals before attaching new ones? I have a brand new Sabre FTD I just picked up last week that had Blue decals that I am swapping for Red, etc. I plan on using a hair dryer to help get the ones on the boat now up and off – any suggestions on tools to use/avoid, etc. Should I use goo gone…or just pull it up and using rubbing alcohol to clean the residue left over and allow that to air dry before applying the new decals…??? Thanks in advance for the help!

Warm it up pull it off,alcohol would probaly remove residue,do not scrape or use meal tools. If alcohol doesnt remove the residue wd 40 will take it off just make sure to use alcohol after the wd 40 so you wont have oil residue
