I have had I-Command gauges on my 2008 BassCat Sabre/Etec 150HO for 8 months now and can say with enthusiasm its a a quantum LEAP forward for instrument gauge related displays vs. traditional analog gauges. The amount of data available for engine and fuel is incredible. Also, it is simple to use and setup. It uses NMEA 2000 network marine standard protocols that is OEM compatible for Evinrude, Yamaha and Suzuki engines. In my opinion it is the FUTURE! Per my local dealer the gauge installation is fairly easy to install because it uses NMEA 2000 network T-HUB plug connectors. Scott Brech in Selma, Alabama installed it on my Sabre last November. The I-Command gauges has the flexibility for LCD digital or analog readouts. You can display up to four gauge functions like RPMS, Speedo, Tach, WPSI on one gauge with up to 16 gauge screens to scroll through on a single gauge. Here are some of the available gauge displays: Engine Temps, Engine Hours, Alt Voltage, Clock display, Battery Voltage, Water Depth, Livewell Temps, Engine Temps, Fuel Econonmy, Water Temps, Fuel, Flow, Fuel Range, Fuel Consumption, Fuel Used, Trip Fuel Used, Seasonal Fuel Used, Transmission Oil Pressure, Oil Tank Levels, Fuel Tank Levels, GPS Speed, GPS Coordinates, Temperature, Engine Water Pressure, Oil Pressure, Fuel Pressure, Engine Boost Pressure Trim Gauge and Throttle Precentage. SideNote: LowranceNet gauges are 95% the same as I-Command and can be used on Etecs but does not have some Evinrude specific OEM Engine related Data. It is my understanding that LowranceNet gauges are compatible with Yamaha and Suziki engines. Can I get these gauges installed if I order direct from BassCat with a Evinrude 200Etec HO? I know Yamaha and Mercury has similar setups available and hope this is available for Etecs too? Thanks, misr12
Due to lower volumes and lack of requests we have not ever offered the I-Command system. We are aware of the system made by Lowrance in the 1440 cases. Though we have not offered them. It would be a special request and it would be special pricing as well. Though it is possible. BCB
That is awesome BCB, so you guys know, which I know you already do, the I Command is actually easier and less time consuming to hook up than analog gauges, wayyyyyy easier, even Brannon can do it, ha,ha,ha…..BRP is really pushing the I command as you know, and from what Im told they are really willing to work with folks like yourselves to offer them and offer them at a VERY attractive price….Ive been working with Christo one of the Parts managers in Sturtevant, I much rather have you guys do this for customers vs. having to do it, and then having a quantity of used analogs, ya know? Since its not any more difficult than the Smartcraft system, its shouldnt be much of a learning curve for the Pros in the back that factory rig….Im going to order differently when I finally get rid of my 2008 Sabre, and Im going to listen to you Rick about having a Mercury and BRP on my Boat Show Boats, heck then we both know I will personally open the doors to new and more customers….What are your guys plans for Yamaha for 2010? Are you having to restructure certain boats like the Sabre and Pantera classic and 2 for the extra heft of the F150 and F200 4 strokes, or are they capable now? I ask this because on the Sabre it says max 115 for 4 stroke hp? Thanks BCB for your continued support on the BRP front….I hope the Die Hard 2 stroke Yamaha guys jump ship to BRP, most of them from my experience are not Merc guys, but who knows, the next couple years are gonna be a heck of a change….Sincerely, Brannon MARKSQUALITYMARINE.COM CELL-920-295-2069Your Signature …
The system is exactly the same as Suzukis which we have set up a few of now. Though we have not seen a demand for I-Command. We have not released any details of 2010 and the decisions are not final. Any details in regards to this will not be discussed till dealer meeting. We continue to have high hopes for Four Stroke engines. Plus Yamaha has not released any details on their plans other than to offer the HPDI Series in the future. Neither Mercury or Yamaha have a model year at this time.
I think demand will increase with some product awareness. I know after having this in my Sabre its way cool stuff. Most dont even know what it looks like. This system will work best in my opinion with Lowrance products because of NMEA2000 standard but it can be used with Humminbird products now that Actisense NGW-1 bridge will allow NMEA2000 data and NMEA 0183 GPS data to communicate with each other. I wouldnt think it would be to challenging to install two 3.5″ gauges on a P4. You would have a very clean T-Bone network under the Dash. Scott Brech did a great aftermarket job for me. I would hope Evinrude would be excited to assist in factory installation endeavors. Thanks. This is good news per pending order.
