BassCat Padded Carpet?

BassCat, Stood on the deck of a friends boat (name to be withheld) and actually was impressed. Will BassCat ever offer anything at the OEM side? Never hurts to ask.

Tom- from what I remember BC has stated until they find a product they feel will hold up to the length of ownership, they will not offer this. Not sure if they have done any more research on it. I guess for now its just cheaper to invest in good shoes.

At one time I owned one of those x brand boats with the padded carpet. Had all kinds of problems with the glue/carpet not adhereing to the pad. I even had the carpet redone by a local shop and continued to have issues with the carpet coming off the pad after a short period of time.

They have serious concerns with appearance, longevity for owners and warranty costs.

Saw an add-on carpeted pad on BBC that Aurora will make to order. Snaps in place along the edges, I believe. I would love to have some padding for comfort, but to be honest, I didnt care for the overall appearance. They may have redesigned it a bit since I saw it. Suppose ill just keep buying expensive Asics cushioned running shoes for padding.

It could stand to be a bit softer too but it does make a positive difference and I can take it out when ever I want.

Since we are talking about adding some comfort to the deck, the best shoes I have found for adding a little additional padding are the Reebok Zigs. They make a bunch of different ones now but the ones with the thickest sole are the best – ( Zig Electrify, Zig Run and so forth). Im on my second pair … I only wear them for fishing so the comfort lasts at least a season may be two.Jason Ferbrache – Edmond, OK 1995 Basscat Eyra
