What kind of changes will we see going forward with the sale of the company to Correct Craft? I guess I knew the day would come, just didnt think it was going to be in the near future.
Just saw it on BBC. Correct Craft just bought the “the best bass boat in the business”. And I feel certain they will keep it that way.I dont think the Pierce family would have it any other way.Last edited by RazorCat on March 24th, 2015, 9:37 pm, edited 1 time in total.
I trust that Rick and his family know what theyre doing. My immediate reaction is I dont like it. But time will tell I guess. I figured it would happen sooner or later.
Gentlemen,I was required to establish a long term contract and this is not a normal sale. We have one Correct Craft staff member in this week to establish everything to get the business functioning. CEO Bill Yeargin will be leaving today and he will not return for a few weeks and then it is for a board tour. We operate Bass Cat and Yar-Craft every day from this point forwards with myself at the helm. We have no challenges in this decision and it make us secure for decades beyond. We have the same game plan, the same Owners Invitational, the same dealer meeting and we continue every day just as we have. We are very excited about what we have achieved in this and we look forward to being stronger, offering more and doing a better job all the way around in the future. Bass Cat holds 5 (five) JD Power and Associates awards for Customer Service and led the industry for 4 of those years setting JD Powers records, Correct Crafts largest subsidiary, Nautique, finished second to Bass Cat in those years and received 7 (seven) JD Power and Associates awards during every year of their segment. They have a similar understanding and have quality in mind. This is a great opportunity to secure Bass Cat and Yar-Craft with a heritage to grow on. Thank you, Rick Pierce
I seldom get into the jousts that occur on this board but here goes, I am going to give my opinion here. Acquisitions happen everyday in the world of business, many are for the good of the industry, the products and people involved, some not so good. We should never be too hasty to assume this is a bad thing for those of us BCB loyal family members. We have always stood behind the Pierce family and the great people at Basscat. Why would we not assume that this move is the best for all of us involved? It is not like BCB was gobbled up by a large national conglomerate that sells everything from rubber worms to hunting boots to salt water taffy along with mass produced boats that many of us feel are inferior quality. Correct Craft was founded in 1925. A great company steep with a tradition of building some the finest competition ski boats in the world FOR 90 YEARS! I think that makes a logical fit with the world finest Bassboat and the people who make it. The Pierce family has provided a great product, they have employed generations of families in the Twin Lakes areas and have taken a very personal involvement in all of our lives as well. The all mighty dollars has always taken a back seat to those of us they call family. I predict that with Rick, Basscat R&D and all the great dealers and employees that exist at BCB along with the infusion of Correct Craft capital will only give us an even better product. I want to be the first on this board to say congratulations to the Rick, his family and BassCat on the great news. The future looks bright #bassnautique
If Im reading this correctly Mr Pierce is going to keep running this thing business as usual. They sold to a big boat company that Is very successful, and from what Ive read this company has to same values and commitments to customer service and satisfaction as BCB. This was not a sale to a holdings company or a bail out. It looks to me like a very strong merger. If all of that is the case Im good with it. Now if all the top BCB brass were to walk away I wouldnt like it. Everybody hits the panic button because this didnt work out for Ranger. Well, we arent Ranger lol.

I agree with Phil, Andy and Steve
I too would like to post my opinion. I am fortunate enough to know Rick Pierce on a personal level. I have nothing but confidence that he and the rest of the Pierce family have made the decision to sell Bass Cat Boats for all the right reasons. They have poured their heart and soul into this company for the last four decades and I assure you they would not let it fall into the wrong hands. Rick was very passionate as an owner of the company and I do not see any possibility that he will be any less passionate now that Correct Craft are the owners. I look at it that an opportunity to secure the future of Bass Cat Boats by merging it with another company that is well established and already successful. I am excited to see what the future holds and would personally like to congratulate both the Pierce Family and Correct Craft.
Well I will say it “This Sucks” I sure hate to see this even if Rick is still in charge we all know someone will want to change things sooner or later.I only wish good things for the Pierce family.
