Basscat Trailer steps are sold with 2 bolts for install…Does cordless 18v drill or impact drivers have enough torque to drill thru tongue/trailer for install?…Thanks in advanceLast edited by PotomacFTD on January 6th, 2014, 2:07 am, edited 2 times in total.

There is no answer as it is dwpendent on the drill and bits. With a quality set they will do the job.

A cordless 18 V or impact driver will do the job. Recommend you drill a smaller pilot hole all the way through to help the bit get started. Be careful as the bit starts to cut through that it does not catch and break your wrist. Sharp bits and cutting oil makes a positive differencejwt

Go slow, step your way up in bit size, good bits and oil, and as previously stated, beware of the dreaded “speedslap” when you are bearing down with the drill against your chest for support. Just as your are about to punch through with big bit, the bit catches, your wrist gives out, drill comes out of hand, and drill hits you in the face three times before you can get out the way>:. Do lots of metal fab and have seen it many times…

I used a new bit and got through NP with a cordless.
