Basscats current opinion on hotfoot

Just wondering if BCB still holds to their opinion of not having a hotfoot. I seem to see more BCBs (as of late) with it than without.

I doubt their opinions have changed. The reason you see more on Cats is because people aka “the buyer” wants the hotfoot. Doesnt mean their opinion will change its just adding to total purchase price.

Being asked to test drive boats for friends I get to try out a number of different boats and set ups every year.One thing that I find is how much more boat control I have with two hands on the steering wheel opposed to one hand on the wheel and one working the throttle. The rougher the water the more I appreciate the extra control.That being said the last two boats I tested out did not have hot foot as they are use to the hand throttle control.

The opinion will remain consistent. Also the ratio of hot foots on product for in house orders is about 30% on boats sold. There is an aftermarket install that raises that percentage overall as well, after the sale in the market.

Im just curious as to why BCB doesnt recommend a hot foot? All my previous boats have had hand controls but the Lynx I have on order has a G2 300 with a hotfoot. I really like having the ability to switch between a hand or foot control.Is it just a personal preference?

I would have to say that personal preference plays a big roll in this one …. Ive driven both , and my preference is hand controls , as Ive got my thumb on a trim switch all the time , and I feel Ive got better throttle control as well . — I didnt like the foot throttle operation in rough water . — It was real easy to chop the throttle when bouncing through some situations , and the last thing I want to do is hook another one . — Not fun !!
