Steven, there are so many choices in this local area that you will probably get many responses. If you like lakes, then there is False River, Old River, Toledo Bend, Lakes Concordia, St. John, Natchez and Bruin. Then there is the largest natural overflow river/swamp system called the Atchafalaya Basin. It is so large that you will access it from many areas. Then there is the Blind River/Amite River basin. It is a river system that is tidal but fresh. If you fish there, you have to contend with Cigarette Boats and pleasure riders so better in winter and during the week. Then there is what we call the Marsh. This is the location where fresh water meets salt water. Various access points from below New Orleans to below Houma and Morgan City. From this area you can target Bass, Sacalait, Bream, Catfish, Speckled Trout, Redfish, Flounder, you name it you can catch it somewhere around here. I hope that helps you. (Shap, you beat me to it!)Everyone should believe in something. I believe Ill just go fishing!
