What size is the battery circuit breaker? Any advantage to have an automatic reset compared to the manual ones? Also I noticed on the parts page that you offer different size breakers, which one would be suggested for a 2008 Sabre with all options on board?
My CougarFTD has a 20 amp breaker on the cranking battery and 50amp on the trolling motor batteries. I always have some spares on hand. I had to replace a couple on my ’06CougarFTD and had to replace them 4-5 times on my Baycat. Even with vaseline on them they wouldn’t handle the salt water.
BCB does not suggest or recommend auto rest breakers. The 40 Amp breaker should be enough on new trollers, though once they age some they tend to pull a little more amperage.

I decided to replace every breaker I could find in my bilge compartment whilst chasing down potentail problems with my BP101 digi-dash (’01 P-III).
When I went to unscrew the nuts off the breaker terminal posts, they crumbled into pieces as if they’d been buried underground for 400 yrs!
Power runs through these in a varying corrosive environment. These are no different than the electrical posts on your car, which are not always subject to humid conditions that exist in your bilge. The climate there eats electrical parts at a varying pace, and more aggressively in salt water.

I’m confused. I got my replacements from BassCat off of your accessory page. Aren’t they auto reset? At least I thought they were. The older I get the more confused I get. There doesn’t seem to be any cure for it either.

Conan1, I beleive on the side of the circuit breaker there should be a black button that you can push in to reset.
I have a 1990 Caracal and want to replace the 5 circuit breakers on the dash. Does anyone know how many amps they are??
