Battery Compartment latch question

I just bought a used 2008 Marty Stone Sabre. The Battery compartment perko cam isnt long enough to latch the compartment down. Is something possibly missing or do i need a longer cam? I did buy a couple of Perko locks from Basscat to replace some broken ones and their cams arent long enough either.

Well Ive looked at it multiple times and it just appears it needs a longer cam. Do the Perko locks from Basscat come with the standard length cam or extra long? Im thinking I need extra long.

After looking Im thinking I have the extra long. Im not sure what the deal is. Everything looks correct.

I think I remember this from a few years back. In fact I had a P4 with the same problem. I took a small piece of aluminum plate and riveted it to the lip of the box so the cam woould hit it. Worked like a charm.

Ok. Thanks for the response. Apparently this is some rare issue cause of how long it has taken for people to respond. Im gonna make the aluminum plate and do what you did.
