When I mount them on a Basscat, I use the aluminum tops of the trays and mount with two screws/bolts.
Pretty well what I have done previously, except I used a large angle screwed to the tray, and then screwed the switch to the angle. My current cat does not have those aluminum trays. So what I did was cut a piece of starboard, a little bigger than the switch, use PL 2 to adhere it to a fibreglass surface in the bilge area, and then mount the switch with screws into the starboard. PL 2 is a waterproof, extremely strong polyurethane adhesive.
