battery guage

the battery gauge on the front of my 2000 P3, when I push it to “battery 1” it shows full, when I push it down it doesnt move?? I tried 2 new batteries and it still does the same? Is the “down for the starting battery?? or is my guage messed up? thanks so much.

I dont know if yours is the same as my 92, but mine wasnt working at all, and after investigating a little bit, it turned out that both breakers had opened and could not be reset,so it could be that one of the circuit breakers could have opened and you are not getting any voltage to the switch for the # 2 battery. It may also be the switch has gone bad. Of course my boat is 8 years older, I dont know if Bass Cat has changed the way they are wired.

We dropped the front battery gauges somewhere in this range. The gauges do tend to have readings effected by the switches and wire connections. There are separate wires on some models for the gauges. Plus the gauges can also be faulty. Use a voltmeter to diagnose the issue.
