When you do check your fluid levels make sure it is after a full charge. The water levels rise during charging and can over flow if not.

Yep, starts about 1 minute in on that battery.Ward – did you mean that you think the cell was somewhat low? When I checked it the water level was actually a bit higher than I would maintain it. I thought that was odd. Thanks.

Check the amperage input with a meter.

Well the multimeter revealed only 10.5 volts, so I guess that one is done.Got a full 4 years out of it so no complaints here.Thanks.

No milt I just (inappropriately) assumed that the water was boiling/bubbling some in that cell and you were hearing it and that was ok. I suppose in situations like this one that the lead is bad(from buildup) and that the concentration of the cell solution changes and you start to hear it boiling. Thanks for your followup-C.O.D. Thanks for the quick reply, I ordered a 36 volt Fortrex. I plan to try the 3 battery system and wanted a good crankin battery.

If going with a three battery system, I would upgrade all three. Your system will only be as strong as your weakest battery. You may have to remove the small pieces in the trays. Remove the one phillips screw to take them out. Once removed the Platinum 31 will fit just fine. I run the Odyssey PC2150 which is essentially the same battery(Odyssey makes the Platinum).

Yes they will. I have 3 PM-1s in my rig and they are an amazing battery. You will wear down before they will.

They are awesome batteries.I just put them in my PIII. They fit perfectly.No more running out of juice at the end of the day now!

Be sure to use the ground on the cranking battery on the 36 volt leads. You should be fine on 3 batts, and use the Sears for your cranking.

The batts that are not bad may last a while so dont replace them all. Just replace one and gamble on the others, they may be fine.

I just tested the others to quell some curiosity, they all have to be replaced anyways. Wal-Mart Specials with a year warrantee will be the replacements. Id rather have Die Hard or Optimax but dont have $600 to spend on batteries. Damn money, theres never enough. You know Christ said the love of money is the route of all evil, well I definitely hate it so whats that mean?- Chaz
